Partners & AcknowledgementsMajor conservation initiatives with long lasting impact take a long time to fully establish. Long-term regular support of projects is the most effective means of supporting resilient conservation programs. We wish to thank all of our friends and supporters and look forward to working with many more. Core funding for Lubee Bat Conservancy is supplied by an endowment set up by Luis. F Bacardi. Benefactors include Luis F. Bacardi, Estate of Hilda Bacardi, Estate of Calvin Austin. Grants supporting field and research programs have been received from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, AZA-CEF Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund, Oakland Zoo, Potawatomi Zoo, Columbus Zoo, Brevard Zoo, Miami Metro Zoo, Houston Zoo. Research fees that support Lubee’s operations have been received from grants to visiting researchers awarded by the US Air Force Research Laboratory, National Institutes of Health. Lubee’s Florida based education program “Nocturnal Adventures” has received support from The Norcross Wildlife Foundation. Donations from local schools for bat programs and tours contribute to the Pam Thomas Bat Education Fund. This fund is administered by the keeping staff at Lubee, and uses its funds to produce Bat Education Kits and ship these to countries where we are working with local partners around the globe. Many educational institutions with visitors, such as zoos or natural history museums, academic institutions, such as Universities, government agencies and departments, private businesses and non-profit organizations that have terrestrial biodiversity conservation as part of their mission and have worked in collaboration with Lubee on research, conservation and education projects. These are listed on the Research and Conservation Science pages. Annually Lubee’s Bat Festival and enrichment program is supported thru in kind donations from local businesses. These are listed on the Bat Festival page. Our on-site micro-bat house was donated by Chiroptera Cabins Company.
